Digital Readiness Lesson Plans and Resources for Grades 6-8

Lesson Plans and Resources Aligned to Tennessee 6-8 Computer Science Standards

The new K-8 Computer Science Standards are designed to integrate computational thinking practices into current curriculum standards. Computational thinking is essentially a problem-solving process that involves designing solutions that capitalize on the power of computers; this process begins before a single line of code is written. The standards are designed to be used within and across all content areas in order to enhance learning and to ultimately inspire students to take ownership of their own academic success.

With the help of current TN teachers, TSIN is making available K-2, 3-5, and 6-8 lesson plans that walk teachers through the integration of computational thinking into the classroom. These lessons are designed using Code.org free curriculum as well as additional resources aligned to the new standards that enhance the learning process. More lessons to come!
