The Network is pleased to annouce today the 2020-2021 cohort for the Innovative
Leaders Institute
– a year-long professional learning opportunity
designed to train highly effective principals, assistant principals, and school
leaders to infuse a STEM culture in their school through innovative leadership
and instructional strategies. Participants will also explore the Tennessee STEM Designation Process
and design learning experiences for students aligned to the rubric. This
year, 92 educators and school leaders, representing 44 Tennessee schools, were
selected for participation in the program.
The 2020-2021 cohort will convene
virtually under COVID-19 safety regulations.
“Despite the many challenges this year has presented, there
remains a robust need to provide innovative STEM learning experiences for
students,” said Brandi Stroecker, Director of the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network.
“Participants in this year’s cohort will virtually network with other school
leaders and Institute faculty while exploring resources to support the
development of a culture of innovation at their respective schools.”
The
Institute is led by Mentor Coaches from twelve of the Tennessee STEM Designated
Schools. These mentor coaches will support participants in developing STEM
learning experiences and aligning initiatives to the Tennessee STEM School
Designation process. The 2020-2021 Mentor Coaches include:
