A video created by Julie Hasfjord’s 8 ^th grade science students at Bailey STEM Magnet Middle School in Nashville is a national finalist in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Challenge.  Bailey STEM Magnet is a TSIN platform school. Help these students win by  voting online.  You can vote once a day until March 14th .  Also share on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to count towards a different award. After winning the State-level (which carried a prize of over $20,000 worth of technology for Bailey STEM), Ms. Hasfjord and her scholars have advanced to the national round, which will be held next week in Austin, Texas. The national prize involves over $100K in STEM technology to the winning school! The Bailey team’s project demonstrated how STEM concepts can be used to help students, their families, and their neighbors save money and reduce their carbon footprint by completing simple energy-saving home-improvement projects. The team also created a mobile app to help families conserve.

Through Solve for Tomorrow, Samsung and its partners hope to raise enthusiasm for STEM education, demonstrate how STEM can positively impact our local communities, and reduce the technology gap in classrooms.
